From initiatives to planting trees to visions by young generations to preserve the environment and secure rural people’s livelihood and future generations.
The beginning of our organization
Our vision – to foster a scalable project that brings multi stakeholders together in planting trees to restore and preserve land health and biodiversity and secure a brighter future for rural people and future generations – it started back in 2019. That time was when agronomy students Cahyo Adileksana founded Tandurbumi supported by other students from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Maulidya Rahmania Atikah, Habib Dwi Saputra, Edwin Pradana, Fatahillah Syafiq, Bernadetha Laras Ayu, Nurul Annisa, Divanda Khalid Abhary, Ardiansyah Indra, dan Reva Azizah Noor. Also, the first project partners were the Empowerment Team Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada.
A distinctive approach
Our mission - to use strategies that can have an environmental, social, and economic impact in particular rural areas. Integrating approaches that maintain green cover areas and ecosystems through the Plant, Care, and Pick Programs. This approach may result in a long-term and encouraging engagement of the community. Established by several agricultural students who have a strong perspective on agriculture and the livelihood of farmers and rural people, they have witnessed that land use in rural areas is not based on sustainable principles. The ideal term for rural areas as a producer of oxygen, storage of water supply, and source of livelihood is starting to degrade.
